Dr. Ashok & Dr. Nafisa Kondru Endoscopy Center Dedication
We were honored last month to host the dedication of the Dr. Ashok & Dr. Nafisa Kondru Endoscopy Center and celebrate two individuals whose vision, dedication, and leadership have improved ARMC and touched thousands of lives in our community.
Throughout their 25-plus years of service to our hospital and our community, the Drs. Kondru did much more than practice medicine. Dr. Ashok Kondru served on the ACMC Board of Directors for 12 years and as Chief of Staff for 2 years. Dr. Nafisa Kondru served on the ACMC Board of Directors for 6 years, Chief of Staff for 2 years, and on the ACMC Foundation Board of Trustees for 11 years and continues to serve as an Honorary Trustee.
The Kondrus always lead by example, giving quietly of their time, their talents and their treasure.
The Dr. Ashok & Dr. Nafisa Kondru Endoscopy Center is double the size of the former unit and was designed to improve both the patient and caregiver experience.
ARMC gastroenterologists treat the organs of the digestive system, including the GI tract (esophagus, stomach and intestines) and biliary organs (liver, bile ducts, pancreas and gallbladder) and will perform a variety of procedures in the Dr. Ashok & Dr. Nafisa Kondru Endoscopy Center.
In addition, ARMC pulmonologists will use the new center to perform bronchoscopies, a minimally invasive procedure that uses a scope to visualize the airway to diagnose lung diseases, obtain tissue samples and remove obstructions.
