Mike Sawruk Memorial Golf Outing

With this golf outing we pay tribute to Mike Sawruk for his years of dedicated leadership at INEOS Pigments and through his years of volunteer service to the ARMC Foundation. 

Michael F. Sawruk “Mike”, age 58, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, April 13, 2014.  

Mike enjoyed his career as a Human Resource Manager for several large corporations. He was employed with Cristal (now INEOS) as the Human Resource Manager for fifteen years, a job in which he excelled and found enjoyment. Also, a man with a servant’s heart, Mike served on the boards of ARMC Foundation,  Ashtabula County Leadership, and Geauga, Ashtabula, Portage Partnership Area 19 Workforce Investment Board (GAPP WIB).  

Mike loved to golf. For over a decade, Mike meticulously coordinated golf trips to Myrtle Beach for all his buddies. The last one coordinated by Mike went on without him in his honor. Mike positively touched the lives of many of his co-workers and members of our community. He will always be remembered for his gentle nature, his constant smile, and most of all his willingness to help whenever possible both personally and professionally.  

Since 2015, the Mike Sawruk Memorial Golf Outing has raised over $160,000 for cancer care in our region! The funds raised have helped to renovate the outpatient cancer center, provide a new lighting system, and purchase new exam beds to enhance patient comfort. Funds have also supported the “Look Good Feel Better” program and have helped patients with urgent needs related to their care, such as medication and transportation expenses.
